An interesting article on pregnancy and childbirth was reported a few hours ago. The news article stated that women thatlived in in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province simply flat out refused to have Caesarean sections on February 29th. It’s not known whether or not superstition played a part, but it’s pretty well known that out of all countries in the world, China is long steeped in traditions.
The main hospital in Wuhan normally reports as many as 6 births each day and could only report one on February 29th, 2008. The women straight out refused to have their C sections performed on that day and voted to have them done the day before or after. But let’s face it. It’s an odd day to have a birthday.
